The Wimbledon Championships came to an amazing end as the sun was going down on the Centre Court. Spain's Rafael Nadal beat the five-time wimbledon champion Roger Federer in a truly outstanding final with all the high's and low's of a roller coaster ride. This was simply the best final seen for a very, very long time.
Nadal's win took nearly 5 hours to achieve with several breaks due to the usual british weather. The win consisted of 6-4, 6-4, 6-7 (5-7), 6-7 (8-10).
Nadal is a sprightly 22 years of age and played with an intensity and power that is rarely seen in a player of his age. The final could have been won by Nadal an hour earlier as he missed two Wimbledon Championship points in the fourth set.
